The Purple Project
From my experience and chats with others, psychiatric survivors tend to move into the shadows as a way of protecting ourselves from the possibility of future institutional harm. But healing happens when survivors have safe spaces shaped and defined by one as a work in progress, together. The Purple Project is not about pulling or pushing us out of the shadows, it’s about lighting a candle so we can exist in the shadows together.
I hope our healthcare systems will stop flicking the lights on and off.
This project is a work in progress and is updated accordingly.
